The Hawkesbury region offers a variety of bushwalking tracks for outdoor enthusiasts. Whether you’re a novice or an experienced hiker, there’s something for everyone. Located so close to Sydney, it is a hidden gem!
The Hawkesbury region boasts beautiful world heritage locations, impressive rivers and more national parks than any other part of Sydney. The Hawkesbury is cradled by four gigantic parks – the Blue Mountains National Park to the west, Yengo and Dharug National Parks to the north and the mighty Wollemi National Park to the north-west. These parks provide a stunning backdrop for walking.
Bushwalking allows you to connect with nature, plus the serene environment, the crisp fresh air, and natural vistas gives you the opportunity to enjoy a break from the hustle and bustle of busy life.

Many people head up to the Blue Mountains to go hiking but we think the bushwalks around the Hawkesbury region are just as good!
You can explore foothills, gorges, valleys, and lookouts. Some areas you may cover during your hikes include the Colo River, Wisemans Ferry, Bowen Mountain, Grose Vale, and Mount Wilson.
